Q. During the course, How do I interchange to shift between blended, distance and face to face?
Emma Sparks
02:07:48
Depending on which stream you choose this will determine whether it is blended or fully distance. At the moment all of the core modules are distance with electives either being face to face or distance. We help you to determine what fits best for you.
Steve Duffin
02:08:39
Is there an aspiration to revert to more face-to-face learning post-COVID?
Simão Batista
02:09:12
Regarding english skills, did students need to send their qualification with an Advanced or IELTS certificate at the time of the application ? Or it could be accomplished and send latter at the beginning of the course ?
Karen - CDS Admissions
02:10:14
Hi, at the time of application you do not need to provide your English language requirement. This will be a condition of offer and required for registration.
Aymman Kheel
02:10:21
Does CDS has a global ranking in subject of defence and security?
Karan Kashyap
02:11:32
Q. I am also interested in accredited short courses Strategic Trade Control and Compliance, and Defence and Security Marketing as electives? These have not been stated under the ambit of optional electives, so can I use credits from these two short courses in Msc Defence and Security?
Emma Sparks
02:13:10
Cranfield Defence and Security is one of very few schools specialising in Defence and Security internationally. We are leaders in many aspects of defence and security and are known for our closeness to business. We have students from many countries as well as military, civil service, industry and other stakeholders.
Matt
02:14:24
Is it permissible to further tailor learning within a stream to include elective courses from another defence and security program. For example, within the technology stream could I substitute some of the operational research courses for some that are in the cyberspace operations Msc?
Neel Patel
02:14:45
specially interested in GUN System design. can you please share details about that?
Emma Sparks
02:14:52
Karen, are these courses you have already taken or would like to take? That will influence how/ if you can transition onto a long course.
Emma Sparks
02:16:18
Matt, yes whatever stream you choose you have the ability to take up to two modules from another stream, so if you in the tech stream you can take up to two modules from either the management and leadership or engineering stream (subject to any pre-requisites)
Lee Hannaford
02:16:24
Can I use some of the work I am already doing for STRATCOM (White Papers etc) within the context of the MSc?
Emma Sparks
02:17:13
Lee, this may be something you could use as part of the thesis, but it would not be able to be used for the taught course element.
Simão Batista
02:17:36
f the student would like to follow a Capstone route and decide not to presente a Thesis. Would it be provided by Cranfield university a partnership for students to establish communication with companies and manage the work together ?
Emma Sparks
02:19:39
Neel, specific elective modules will have the details available on the website. This will give you the specific breakdown of content.
Karan Kashyap
02:21:30
Q. While Defence and Security Marketing has been listed as a short course that is offered online, Strategic Trade Control and Compliance has been listed - only provided on campus in September this year. Is there a possibility of this being offered online like others?
Karan Kashyap
02:22:02
Due to covid scenario
Emma Sparks
02:22:20
Simao, The capstone route has a series of business focused papers that are developed as opposed to a traditional thesis. It is intended tat this would be related to a business focused problem. Either the student can bring that problem forward themselves or we could facilitate some options from industrial partners.
Karen - CDS Admissions
02:23:23
Hi Karan, at the moment we don't have the timetable confirmed for academic year 21. If it is usually face to face, it will likely go back to face to face teaching when restrictions are lifted.
Emma Sparks
02:24:09
Karen, all of the modules that are intended to be face to face are being constantly evaluated to see if they will be face to face or online based on the current Covid situation. We can have follow on conversations with module leaders to understand their intent.
Karan Kashyap
02:25:36
Q. As fee payment is spread over an equal annual instalment, for clarity, it means I can pay approx. £4150 pounds yearly for three years? What will happen if there is an increment in fee structure for next year, for the part time students who have enrolled this year, will we pay the increased fee structure?
Karen - CDS Admissions
02:26:24
Hi Karan, The fee that is set at the time of offer and academic year is the set fee you will pay. The annual payment will be on your offer letter.
